Trans Canada Trail Bridge

Project Overview

This project involved the removal of the existing Trans Canada Trail bridge located in Tillsonburg, south of North Street, followed by the installation of a new timber pedestrian bridge. The work also included reconstruction of the watercourse channel, construction of an accessible ramp and staircase to improve trail connectivity, and full landscape restoration to return the area to a clean, natural finish.

With the new crossing in place, the trail now offers a safer, more reliable connection for the community to enjoy for years to come.

Scope of Work

• Removal of the existing superstructure, pier, and culvert
• Pavement and concrete removals
• On-site and excess soil management
• Grading for – pier, abutment, trail, ramp, and channel
• Place new asphalt
• Supply and install steel staircase
• Pedestrian barrier on abutment
• Retaining walls
• Prefabricated bridge
• Armour stone retaining wall
• Refacing abutment
• Landscape restoration
