Our health and safety program
At Bronte Construction, our Health & Safety Program is comprehensive and multifaceted.
It is our goal to provide a safe work environment for all workers at every level, while continually providing workplace awareness, for the prevention of occupational injuries and illness. We recognize and are committed to the right of workers to work in a safe, healthy work environment.
Bronte Construction engages in consultation with workers and, as part of this process, as developed specific health and safety training objectives for all employees with a focus on monitoring the workplace for compliance for legislative requirements and to achieve best operating practices at all times.
Our Health & Safety Program includes:
- A program for conducting routine health and safety inspections to identify and eliminate unsafe working conditions or practices, and to control health hazards.
- A comprehensive health and safety training program for all new and existing personnel.
- Provisions for the use of personal protective equipment by all employees.
- Provisions for mechanical and physical safeguards to the maximum extent possible.
- Company-wide health and safety policies requiring every employee of the company to comply as a condition of employment.
- Provisions for a thorough and prompt investigation of every accident to determine its cause, correct the problem, and reduce the likelihood of it reoccurring.
- A progressive disciplinary policy, where violations will be recorded.
Certificate of Recognition (CORTM)
Bronte Construction is proud to be one of only 200+ firms in all of Canada to receive the nationally-recognized Certificate of Recognition (COR™) from the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) in recognition of our outstanding health and safety practices.
This occupational health and safety accreditation program verifies that we have fully-implemented a health and safety program which meets national standards. It is an acknowledgement from the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations demonstrating our commitment to health and safety excellence.
In addition, the Certificate of Recognition (COR™) allows Bronte Construction to meet prequalification requirements for many contractors working across Ontario on public and private sector projects.
Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy
Bronte Construction is committed to building and preserving a safe working environment for our employees to ensure they are treated with respect and dignity. We do not condone and will not tolerate acts of harassment and/or violence against anyone or by anyone employed at Bronte a Construction project.
Bronte Construction believes that companies are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our company’s strategy and operating methods. It is our priority to encourage our workers and subcontractors to do the same.

Return to Work (RTW) Policy
Bronte Construction recognizes that our employees are our most important assets. Our Return to Work (RTW) Policy is designed for workers who have a work-related injury or illness, and aims to safely return workers to pre-injury condition in a timely manner. The policy’s ultimate goal is to ensure that employees have the best opportunities available for successful return to work.
