Baywood Road Culvert Replacement

Project Overview

Bronte Construction was hired by the City of Toronto, to complete the removal and replacement of the existing Baywood Road Culvert (Culvert 675) over the Humber River Tributary! This project included the installation of a new precast concrete structure, outlet enhancements with armour stones, and a full site restoration. Our team’s dedication and expertise have delivered a lasting solution that benefits the community and environment alike.

Scope of Work

• Removal of existing culvert
  
• Installation of traffic control devices for vehicles and pedestrians
• Implementation of tree protection
• Shoring protection system for excavation
• Installation of temporary flow passage system and dewatering to isolate the work areas
• Erosion and sediment control measures, and clearing and grubbing
• Earth/rock excavation for the structure and removal
• Lifting and installing precast concrete culvert pieces
• Full depth concrete removal and reconstruction of a retaining wall
• Reconstruction of the culvert outlet with armour stones and rock protection
• Replacement of steel beam guide rail
• Replace sections of storm sewer and connect to new structures
• Application of sealer on concrete surfaces
• Paving and line painting
• Site restoration works
